KPV
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val, CAS 67727-97-3) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) and constitutes the minimal pharmacophore for melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory activity. In intestinal epithelial and macrophage cultures, it suppresses NF-kB nuclear translocation and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine expression without the potent MC1R pigmentation activity of full-length alpha-MSH. It is a tool compound for studying anti-inflammatory peptide signaling in gut epithelial models. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
